£2 Million Project To Support UK Dementia Carers

Researchers at the University of East Anglia and Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) are launching a new project to improve the lives of dementia carers in the UK.

John and Linda’s Story

John, who cares for his wife Linda, shared his experience of taking part in the CareCoach study in a feature published by Join Dementia Research. The article highlights Linda’s diagnosis of semantic dementia, John’s experiences as a family carer, and why he chose to take part in research. John also discusses how CareCoach provided support, information and opportunities for reflection during his caring journey.

‘If you want to know the road ahead, ask those coming back’

Geoffrey Fenwick, our PPI Lead, has co-authored a paper along with other members of the CareCoach team which has been published in the Journal of Dementia Care. The publication reflects on PPI input to the CareCoach Study and is an open call for carers with lived experience of dementia care to join the PPI team.
